Ukrainians should check current temporary protection and residence rules before choosing a longer-term route.

1. Confirm your short-stay and long-stay visa position.
2. Choose a legal route: work, study, family, business, digital nomad, or EU registration.
3. Collect apostilled and translated documents where required.
4. Choose a first city and temporary accommodation.
5. Register residence, obtain CNP or fiscal code, and open a Romanian bank account.
6. Set up health coverage, mobile service, and local tax support.
